Effects of Different Soybean and Maize Mixed Proportions in a Strip Intercropping System on Silage Fermentation Quality

چکیده

Soybean (Glycine max Merr.), with a high nutritional value, is an important oil crop and good protein feed crop. Due to the shortage of high-protein import pressure on soybean, scarce main research target for improving quality. High-quality soybean (Qihuang 34) high-yield silage maize (Zea mays L.) (Jingling 386) varieties were used as experimental materials in this study. The quality microbial community mixed analyzed, compatible intercropping ratios maize–soybean evaluated. This experiment designed five strip systems (SIS) randomized block. row 0:1 (pure S), 1:0 maize, M), 1:1 (MS1), 1:3 (MS2), 1:5 (MS3). Dry matter yield fresh improved treatments MS1 MS2. In increase proportion, crude (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid (ADF) contents gradually increased, but water-soluble carbohydrates (WSC) dry (DM) reduced different degrees (p < 0.05). Moreover, alone had poor fermentation performance, indicated by pH, acetic (AA), propionic (PA), butyric (BA), ammonia-N (NH3-N) concentrations, low lactic (LA) concentration. By contrast, conducive reducing PA, BA, NH3-N, increasing LA content. relative abundance Lactobacillus Weissella MS higher, undesirable bacteria lower than S. MS2 lowest highest concentration, among three groups. Therefore, SIS modified communities while yields. better ratio was 1:3. These results could provide theoretical basis wide application popularization forage source.

Rational Phosphorus Application Facilitates the Sustainability of the Wheat/Maize/Soybean Relay Strip Intercropping System

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)/maize (Zea mays L.)/soybean (Glycine max L.) relay strip intercropping (W/M/S) system is commonly used by the smallholders in the Southwest of China. However, little known is how to manage phosphorus (P) to enhance P use efficiency of the W/M/S system and to mitigate P leaching that is a major source of pollution. Field experiments were carried out in 2011, 2012, an...

Digestion, rumen fermentation and circulating concentrations of insulin, growth hormone and IGF-1 in steers fed diets based on different proportions of maize silage and grass silage.

Replacing grass silage with maize silage results in a fundamental change in the ratio of structural to non-structural carbohydrates with commensurate changes in rumen fermentation patterns and nutrient utilisation. This study investigated the effects of feeding four forage mixtures, namely grass silage (G); 67 g/100 g grass silage + 33 g/100 g maize silage (GGM); 67 g/100 g maize silage + 33/10...

The Effect of Intercropping of Maize and Soybean on Microclimate

Intercropping induces the diseases decreasing, and yield increasing, may partly due to the improvement of microclimate in fields. In order to understand the mechanism and efficiency of resource utilization in intercropping of maize (Zea mays) and soybean (Glycine max), a field experiment was conducted as factorial on the bases of randomized complete block design of three patterns with three rep...

Root Interactions in a Maize/Soybean Intercropping System Control Soybean Soil-Borne Disease, Red Crown Rot

BACKGROUND Within-field multiple crop species intercropping is well documented and used for disease control, but the underlying mechanisms are still unclear. As roots are the primary organ for perceiving signals in the soil from neighboring plants, root behavior may play an important role in soil-borne disease control. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS In two years of field experiments, maize/soybean interc...

Effects of reduced nitrogen inputs on crop yield and nitrogen use efficiency in a long-term maize-soybean relay strip intercropping system

The blind pursuit of high yields via increased fertilizer inputs increases the environmental costs. Relay intercropping has advantages for yield, but a strategy for N management is urgently required to decrease N inputs without yield loss in maize-soybean relay intercropping systems (IMS). Experiments were conducted with three levels of N and three planting patterns, and dry matter accumulation...
